Knuckle Rings - They're bad And They're Back!
A Guide To Knuckle Rings

A perfectly selected ring to enclose your finger in a hoop of style can make all the difference when accessorizing a perfectly put together ensemble.  Knuckle rings are the most recent pieces of accessories to hit the market and become instant fashion superstars.  Becoming a lot more popular over the last couple of decades, the knuckle rings have most likely originated from the massive hip hop scene, where brass knuckle jewelry became all the rage at one point.  The knuckle ring has since then evolved from being just symbolical “tough bling” to “high fashion bling”.  Likewise, multi finger knuckle rings are no longer the only type in this category of jewelry, as hinged rings have also recently emerged as another style for the knuckle rings.

The multi finger knuckle rings have, apparently, originated from a rather violent past since these knuckle rings were originally created as a weapon to increase the damage meted out by a punch. Known also as “Knuckle Dusters” or “Brass Knuckles”, these knuckle rings were used in medieval times, and resurrected during the height of the mafia era.

It may be due to this tough past, coupled with the massive bling that all those celebrated hip hop stars started wearing in the nineties, that made them the knuckle ring an obvious choice for this edgy cultural scene.  Gradually though, the overly hyped pieces of dramatic knuckle rings were replaced by more traditional fashion styling that were more accessible to the less gangster-and hip-hop-oriented population. The following periods will see the knuckle ring’s reduction from the four-finger rings down to the more refined two-finger rings that are in usual circulation. Knuckle rings are a form of jewelry that exude confidence and a slight ostentatious edge, so they are primarily for the bold, and not the faint of heart! One of the problems with buying multi-finger knuckle rings, though, is getting them to fit properly. It’s hard enough to get a single ring finger to fit properly, but adding in a second, or even more ring fingers compound the problem, as you need all of them to fit properly. The key to getting this right is just to ensure that wherever you are buying your knuckle rings from has a great exchange/returns policy.

Another type of knuckle ring is an altered form that is comprised of very long ring that has a hinge in the center that allows the wearer’s finger to bend at the knuckle. These have become hugely popular and are fast becoming an essential in today’s trend departments. Because of its gothic roots, the designs for this type of knuckle ring are usually medieval in nature and often very striking. Rings like these aren’t usually resizeable, so it’s again very important to ensure that the store that you are buying it from has a very robust returns or exchange policy.

Because knuckle rings aren’t usually available at your local jeweler, buying them online is your best bet.  Look for a website that has genuine and reliable customer reviews, and an efficient return or exchanges policy that you can trust. Using a site like eBay or Amazon is also a good bet.
